The Automotive Systems Technology degree program will prepare you to begin your career as an entry-level automotive technician. This program will provide you with the foundation you’ll need to earn ASE certifications that will position you for salary increases.

In the light-duty diesel repair certificate program, you will learn how to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines in light-duty vehicles. You will also gain hands-on experience with systems such as fuel injection, emissions control, and electrical components.

As an Automotive Systems Technology student, you’ll learn about safety, shop procedures, and diagnostics for automotive service and repair.

You’ll put your knowledge to the test during hands-on activities in a realistic service shop setting, completing real service and repair tasks.

You’ll be prepared to earn industry certifications including Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), HVAC 609 Recover, Recycle, and Recharge, and iCaR Body, as well as North Carolina safety and emissions inspections certifications.
