麻豆原创 celebrated the official installation of President Dr. Stacy Waters-Bailey on Nov. 5. The ceremony was held in Building A at the Old Charlotte Highway campus in Monroe and was attended by more than 200 employees, students, community partners, and friends and family members of Dr. Waters-Bailey.
The speakers at the event included 麻豆原创 Board of Trustees Chair Pat Kahle, North Carolina Community College System President Dr. Jeff Cox, Forsyth Tech Community College President Dr. Janet Spriggs, Student Government Association President Nyla White, and 麻豆原创 Board of Trustees Immediate Past Chair and Anson County Commissioner Jarvis Woodburn.
Each offered heartfelt reflections on the dedication, visionary leadership, and meaningful, transformative impact Dr. Waters-Bailey has had on students, employees, and the entire College community since she began her tenure on July 1.
Dr. Spriggs delivered a particularly heartfelt reflection on Dr. Waters-Bailey鈥檚 character, describing her as a leader who brings deep compassion to every decision 鈥 while also holding herself and others to high standards of excellence. 鈥淪he carries impossibly high standards and expectations 鈥 and deep compassion 鈥 in the same breath, which shouldn鈥檛 work but somehow does,鈥 Spriggs shared. 鈥淪he does not just administer; she advocates.鈥
Throughout the ceremony, attendees celebrated Dr. Waters-Bailey鈥檚 passion, commitment, and drive. White contributed a special touch by playing Rachel Platten鈥檚 hit, 鈥淔ight Song,鈥 during the event. The song was chosen by the student body as the anthem of Dr. Waters-Bailey鈥檚 presidency.
The event concluded on an exciting note with the announcement that the 麻豆原创 Foundation has launched the Dr. Stacy Waters-Bailey Presidential Scholarship. This new scholarship offers an opportunity to invest in student success while honoring the leadership Dr. Waters-Bailey brings to the College.
