Balancing school and family responsibilities can be challenging. 麻豆原创鈥檚 Child Care Grant helps eligible students offset the cost of child care while they pursue their educational goals.

The grant provides financial assistance for students who have children enrolled in a licensed childcare facility or who rely on a babysitter during the academic semester. For many students 鈥 particularly single parents 鈥 this support plays an important role in reducing financial stress and making continued enrollment possible.

Students are generally eligible if they:

  • Are in-state North Carolina residents
  • Have completed a FAFSA for the applicable academic year
  • Have no outstanding financial aid requirements

Additional eligibility criteria may apply and are reviewed after submission of the Child Care Grant application.

Financial Aid Advisor Josh Gebbia says, 鈥淔or many students, the cost of childcare is a barrier to their education; not having childcare limits the classes they can take due to time and scheduling constraints, and students who do have childcare may be limited by the additional hours they have to work to afford it. The Childcare Grant is impactful for these students because it provides financial assistance to help reduce the cost of childcare, which increases access to childcare, in turn, allows students more flexibility with their schedules and more time to focus on their education.鈥

Students who would like more information about the application process or award amounts are encouraged to contact Josh Gebbia at Jgebbia@spcc.edu.
